Ingredients

12 ounces fresh or frozen unsweetened cranberries ( reserve 1/3 cup for later) 1/2 cup water 1 cup granulated sugar 1/8 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon Chipotle(pureed)

1/4 cup water

Instructions 1. Rinse the cranberries and place on towel to dry

2. In a medium saucepan, boil sugar and ½ cup water for 2 minutes. Sugar will dissolve. 3. Turn the heat down to a light simmer. Add the cranberries

4. Simmer the cranberries until they are soft and most have burst, about 10 minutes. 5. Stir in salt.

6. Stir in the Chipotle 7. Remove from heat and stir in the ¼ cup water. 8. Allow to cool for 15 minutes. 9. Place in storage container until ready to serve.

The cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools so don’t worry.

Serving suggestions: This is delicious served as a sauce over chicken, poultry and many other dishes or sandwiches for that extra kic
